Ultimate Injection Port Tutorial Page
For Modified & Myco Flow Lids
Materials Needed:
- Drill + Mason jar/safe drilling surface - Mason Jar Lids (plastic better than metal) - 10.2mm Drillbit (available here) - IV Filters or Adhesive Filter Stickers - DrMyc Ultimate Injection Ports
Materials Needed for FungiFlow Lid:
- Fungiflow Lid - Injection ports - Adhesive or IV Syringe Air Filters (provided)
For Modified Lids (about 3-5 minutes per lid):
1) Place lid to be modified on top of a wide mouth mason jar. It is advisable to have the mason jar on a surface such as an old table or on a flat surface you don't mind damaging.
2) Add the 10.2 mm drillbit to your drill. Lightly apply pressure to center of the mason jar lid until the bit begins to bite, then apply slightly more pressure to drill hole.
3) Drill another 10.2mm hole away from the center, this hole is for the air exchange.
4) With plastic and metal lids, it is advisable to remove the burrs from the drilled hole, as this will allow for better sealing around the injection port.
5) Once burrs have been removed, moisten the plug of the injection port, and with pressure from your thumb, push it into the lid. Apply adhesive air-exchange sticker to lid.
For Fungi-Flow Lids:
1) Apply adhesive sticker filters to Fungi-Flow lid
2) Firmly press provides seal into seal cavity - your lids are now ready to use!
